The Joy of the Redeemed in Zion

the Arabah will rejoice
and blossom like the rose. 2 It will burst into bloom,
and rejoice with joy and singing. The glory of Lebanon will be given to it,
the excellence of Carmel and Sharon; they will see the glory of the Lord,
the excellence of our God.

3 Strengthen the weak hands,
and steady the feeble knees. 4 Say to those with anxious hearts,
“Be strong, do not fear! Behold, your God will come,
He will come with vengeance; God comes with terrible recompense,
but He will come to save you.”

5 Then the eyes of the blind will be opened,
and the ears of the deaf unstopped. 6 Then the lame man will leap like a deer,
and the tongue of the mute will sing for joy. For in the wilderness, waters will break out,
and streams in the the Arabah. 7 The parched ground will become a pool,
and the thirsty land springs of water; in the haunts where jackals used to lay,
there will be grass, reeds, and rushes.

8 A highway will be there and a way,
and it will be called the Way of Holiness. The unclean will not pass over it,
but it will be for those who walk that way; all travellers, even fools, will not go astray. 9 No lion will be there,
neither will any ravenous beast go up on it; they will not be found there, but the redeemed shall walk there!
