The Book of Isaiah

Isaiah Chapter 62

The Restoration of Zion

1FOR Zion’s sake I will not keep silent,
and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest,

until her righteousness shines like a bright light,
and her salvation like a blazing torch. 2 The nations will see your righteousness,
and all the kings your glory. You will be called by a new name,
which the mouth of the Lord will announce. 3 You will be a crown of glory in the hand of the Lord,
and a royal diadem in the hand of your God. 4 You will no longer be called Forsaken,
and your land will no longer be called Desolate; but you will be called My Delight is in Her,
and your land Married; for the Lord delights in you,
and your land will be married. 5 For as a young man marries a virgin,
so your sons will marry you; and as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride,
so will your God rejoice over you.

6 I have appointed watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem;
they will never be silent day or night. You, who boast in the Lord,
take no rest! 7 Give Him no rest until He establishes Jerusalem,
and makes her the praise of the earth.

8 The Lord has sworn with His right hand,
and by His mighty arm: “I will never again give your grain
as food for your enemies; and the sons of foreigners will not drink
the new wine you have laboured for. 9 But those who gather grain will eat it,
and praise the Lord; and those who harvest the grapes
will drink it in My holy courts.”

10 Pass through, pass through the gates;
prepare the way for the people. Build up, build up the highway;
clear away the stones! Lift up a banner for the peoples!

11 Look, the Lord has proclaimed
to the end of the earth, “Say to Daughter Zion,
‘Behold, your salvation is coming; His reward is with Him,
and His recompense is with Him’.”

12 They will be called the Holy People,
the Redeemed of the Lord; and you will be called Sought Out,
the City Not Forsaken.
