The Judgment of God on the Wicked and the Righteous

For the director of music. Set to the tune of ‘Do Not Destroy’. A Psalm of Asaph. A Song.

1WE give thanks to You, O God,
we give thanks; for Your Name is near.

People tell of Your wonderful deeds.   2 You say, “At the time I will appoint,
I will judge uprightly. 3 When the earth and all the inhabitants shake,
it is I who holds its pillars steady.  Selah 4 I say to the arrogant, ‘Do not boast’;
and to the wicked, ‘Do not lift up your horn’. 5 Do not lift up your horn against heaven;
do not speak with an arrogant neck.”   6 For exaltation does not come from east or west,
or the wilderness; 7 but God is the Judge;
He puts down one and lifts up another. 8 In the hand of the Lord is a cup,
filled with foaming wine mixed with spices; He will pour it out, and all the wicked of the earth
will drink it down to its very dregs.   9 As for me, I will declare this forever;
I will sing praise to the God of Jacob. 10 All the horns of the wicked I will cut off,
but the horns of the righteous will be exalted.
