Psalm 101

The Righteous Declaration of a Godly King

A Psalm of David.

1will sing of faithfulness and justice;
I will sing praise to You, O Lord.
2 I will be careful to live blamelessly;
when will You come to me?   I will conduct the oversight of my household
with integrity of heart. 3 I will not set anything vile
before my eyes.   I hate the deeds of those who fall away;
they will not cling to me. 4 A perverse heart will be far from me,
I will know nothing of evil.   5 Whoever secretly slanders his neighbour,
him will I cut off; one with haughty eyes and a proud heart
I will not endure.   6 My eyes will be on the faithful in the land,
that they may dwell with me; he whose walk is blameless
may minister to me.   7 None who practice deceit
shall dwell in my house; none who speak lies
shall remain in my presence.   8 Morning by morning I will destroy
all the wicked in the land; I will cut off all evildoers
from the city of the Lord.
